Some Lovely Feedback
I started Duncan's online Qi Gong and Tai Chi classes in mid 2020 following a recommendation by a friend. At that time I was recovering from a life threatening illness and two bouts of pneumonia which had resulted in long spells in hospital.. I can safely say that these classes with their focus on breathing and flexibility played a very significant part in my road back to normality. The focus of the exercises on the whole body in contrast to other fitness classes I've been to has been particularly helpful. and I feel that they are giving me a lifetime resource, even at the age of 74!!! Duncan's knowledge of how Chinese medicine relates the exercises to the health of different parts of the body has been an eye-opener for me and a motivation to keep going! It's worth tuning in to the meditation sessions where he develops this more fully. There is always a positive approach and a feeling that all levels of fitness can participate and benefit from Duncan's extensive knowledge of these forms of exercise. Always recommend them to both male and female friends as a good way out of the lethargy of lockdowns and to build future fitness.

The fact that I can now participate 3 times a week or more, instead of hall based once a week has really helped both my health and my competency in the form.
General pre Lockdown comments
I have been attending Qi Gong classes with Duncan for well over a year now. I find the sessions wonderfully relaxing but also energising. The atmosphere in the class is calm and the exercises simple but powerful. I am delighted that I feel stronger, more supple and very relaxed. The classes have helped with stiff neck and shoulders, back pain and knee problems. It is easy to follow the exercises and simple to practise at home. I regularly recommend Tai Chi Rutland and Tai Chi and Qi Gong to my friends and family. I am confident that we can all gain physically and mentally through regular Qi Gong and Tai Chi Classes.

I’ve been practicing Tai Chi and Qigong with Duncan for about two years after retiring from 25 years practicing Karate. Duncan’s sessions include stretching, breathing and meditation during the Qigong exercises. This prepares the group for the Tai Chi forms. Karate might be more martial than art. Tai Chi is perhaps more art than martial, but when performed in good form, Tai Chi is physically rewarding and a great stress reliever. Duncan’s sessions are the ideal balance in between my other fitness activities. I cycle one day, next day Tai Chi, next day isometrics.

I have been going to Billesdon Tai Chi Class for almost two years now and I must say how much I enjoy and have benefitted from these sessions. The gentle exercises not only help me switch off from the busyness of everyday life but also improve my concerntration, deep breathing technique, balance and health generally. I always come away feeling totally re-energised! Moreover, the class is a very friendly, sociable gathering to be thoroughly recommended.

For me TaiChi is a very relaxing, calming but active experience. It is done in the company of pleasant people in an unpressured and friendly atmosphere. Initially it appears slow and easy but at the end of every session I am relaxed but " worn out" and feel I have had good exercise. I can't recommend it highly enough. It keeps body and mind active in retirement and I wish I had started when still working.
